The Soda Pop Shop

One of the highlights of the trip was going to the soda pop shop. My brother, Andrew told us all about it and because Toby is such a HUGE fan of soda pop both he and Andrew were pretty pumped to go check out this store. The soda pop shop has all the original soda pops from back in the day. All of the bottles and recipes are completely genuine and not only that but there are a million different flavors of soda pop. A few of the ones that stood out to me were cucumber soda, chocolate soda and black lemonade. By the end of our tour through the store Toby and Andrew had their carts completely full. I loved how all the bottles were so vintage looking. I got some of the coolest looking ones to keep for decorations in my house!! So if your ever in LA and your curious go check out the soda pop shop! Just be sure to lock your car doors and you might want to bring along some mace or a gun. Toby was shocked when we came out of the store and saw that we still had the rims on our car. Kind of a scary place! On our way out Denae saw a naked, homeless person i was sad I missed that one;).

Disneyland

We just got back from our 4 day trip to Disneyland. I have so much to do right now but of course all I want to do is look at all our pictures and blog about our fun trip:). We drove down on Friday evening and met up with Denae and Andrew the next day around 10 to head over to California Adventure. After being at California Adventure for a few hours my camera battery died and my back up was at our hotel. So I didn't get very many pictures of our first day but that might be a good thing because I have a tendency to take too many pictures;). Here is a recap of our awesome first day...

Right as we walked in the park guess who we saw? Goofy!!! Nikell wasn't very excited about him though.

The first thing we did when we got to California Adeventure is take Brooklyn to see if she was tall enough to go on the ride California soarin. She was just tall enough and so Toby, Brooklyn and I went on it while Denae and Andrew watched the kids. Brooklyn was a little nervous before the ride and she was asking 50 questions wanting to know exactly what to expect. As soon as she got on the ride though, she was good. She loved it!!
While we were on the ride Andrew and Denae took Nikell and Ander to see the cars characters.

Brooklyn and Nikell loved being with their cousin Ander. We loved hanging out with this little guy all week, he is so much fun and so dang cute!

The play house disney show was so fun. Brooklyn loved it and was standing up and dancing the whole time. Nikell was a little sleepy so she wasn't as enthusiastic.

During the play house disney show my battery died in my camera. We had a great day though we went over to Disneyland and played all day on rides then in the evening we went to the cheescake factory to eat.
After we ate dinner at the Cheescake Factory Toby was nice enough to drop Andrew, Denae, Brooklyn and I off at Disneyland so we could go watch Fantasmic and the fireworks. Brooklyn HATED it!! She was so scared the entire time except for when the princess came out and danced with their princes. I felt so bad, she was so tired and all she wanted to do was go on the carousel she kept asking me over and over all day when she could ride on it. I though we could go ride it after the show was over but during the fireworks I looked down and she had fallen asleep.

Haircuts

Before we left for Disneyland I gave everyone a little haircut. While I was cutting Nikki's hair I started thinking about when it was that I gave her her very first haircut. I remember cutting Brooklyn's hair and taking a picture of it and claiming it was her very first hair cut but to be honest I have been cutting both of my girls hair since they were like a month old. Yes, I know this sounds insane but little new borns have such uneven hair and so I would just trim up the uneven hairs every once in a while. Then as they got more and more hair I started trimming all of it.
SO, I decided to take a picture of Nikell getting a hair cut since this is something that we do fairly often at my house and I never really got a "first hair cut" picture. My girls love getting their hair trimmed and because I started so young and did it so often they know how to sit still and not complain the entire time. I am a huge fan of hair trims and love that they both have very healthy beautiful locks because of this.

When I die...

Brooklyn- mom, when I get old like a grandma and die will my eyes be covered?

Me- well when you die your body is put in a coffin, You know kind of like Snow white is put in a glass coffin. Then the coffin goes in the ground and your eyes wont be covered. But Brooklyn you wont live in your body anymore you will be in heaven with your family and friends.

Brooklyn- oh, ok so my body will be under the ground but I will walk on top of the ground?

Me- yes you will live in heaven with all of the people that love you

Brooklyn "oh, ok but mom I don't want a glass coffin I just want a rock one" can you make sure to tell Heavenly Father that?

Me- (trying not to laugh) well honey you will probably need to tell your kids that because they are the ones that will probably put you in your coffin.

Brooklyn- ok mom, good idea, I will just tell my kids.

Me- ok

Brooklyn- Will Heavenly Father make sure to get all my things to bring to heaven. Like my clothes and toys and suit cases?

Me- I am pretty sure Heavenly Father will make sure you have everything you need.

Brooklyn- so he will have toy's and candy?

Me- Those things are fun huh!! I am sure you will have everything you need to be happy. Don't worry.

Brooklyn- Ok mom, is Heaven in a cave?

Me- No, Heaven is a big place kind of like the earth we live on right now.

This conversation went on and on. I love the way this girl thinks, so very curious about how it all works. I am so glad I have the knowledge and faith that we will live with our Heavenly Father again after this life and that I can answer my children's questions with confidence.

D's Birthday

Our cute friend Dylen had a birthday last week. She had a really fun Luau birthday party. THe kids loved making their very own lays (SP?) I am sad I didn't get a picture of them because it is really such a cute idea. I might have to steal some pics from Misty to show them off. Brooklyn was really looking forward to Dylens birthday and picked out some things at the disney store to give her. She took her time shopping and got her exactly the perfect gift :). I cannot believe Dylen is 5 CRAZY!

Weekend away

whenever Toby has a weekend that he isn't on call we like to take advantage of it by going somewhere. We thought about going camping which is something we haven't done in I don't know how long. But then Toby mentioned something about going to SanFrancisco to a Giants game and I thought that would be fun. SO, last minute we asked our girl Brittney to babysit over night and she didn't have plans yet which is a miracle because she is always so busy. The weekend was awesome it was just what we needed!! The Giants lost but we had a good time anyway. Right when we got to our hotel Toby ordered us some yummy dessert. It was a weekend of really bad but oh so good, food. We are trying to be healthy and this weekend just totally threw me off. The next morning we went to this place to have breakfast that my friend Misty told us about. It was soooo yummy!! After that we spent half the day shopping which is something Toby HATES to do but he did it for me. He can't complain too much though we got him some pretty awesome clothes. He is going to be looking pretty hot! I love shopping in San Fran!!
What a great weekend, I love spending time with my babe alone. I really feel lucky to have such an awesome husband He makes me laugh so much and he is so fun to talk to. It was so nice having time to just relax and talk until it is so late we couldn't keep our eyes open. I love those kind of talks. It was so nice coming home and seeing our girls running out the door screaming with excitement to see us. SO cute! I wonder how long this will last?

This is what I do when I am bored, lol, seriously I was entertaining myself while waiting for Toby to get ready. Yes, you heard me right, I wait for Toby to get ready he doesn't wait for me. He is sooooo slow!

Do you think Toby likes to get his picture taken? His face tells it all!

Struggling to get a picture, this will have to do:)
