Happy Birthday to me!

I am a little behind on my blog. My birthday was on the 16th and it was most definitely a day to remember!! Toby spoiled me rotten and I loved every second of it;) First of all I just have to get it out there, I turned the big 30. I really can't believe I'm 30 it seems like I have alway's thought 30 sounded so old. I don't feel that old but when I here Brittney my 19 year old baby sitter say things like "oh don't you feel so young when you do this with me?" it hits me that I really am getting older. So the week before my birthday one Saturday night my awesome friend Misty asked me if she could take me out to dinner for my birthday. I was excited to go out since Toby had just left a few hours earlier to catch a flight to Arizona for a work meeting. (so I thought). Apparently Toby and Misty planned out this awesome surprise at one of my favorite restaurants. A few of my close friends were there and it was probably most surprised I have ever been. Toby had made up this fake flight itinerary so I knew he was on his flight and never even thought once that it would be possible for him to do this. It was quite amazing that they pulled it off. It was so fun, I love my friends so much and feel so lucky to have such awesome people in my life.
The next big surprise happened on my birthday. After a good morning and a fun lunch with friends at the olive garden I came home ready to take a nap before Brooklyn got home from school. I was about asleep when the door bell rang. I answered the door to find a big bouquet of balloons and my cute husband. I went to take the balloons and when Toby handed them to me attached to the strings at the bottom were a set of car keys. After jumping up and down for a few minutes screaming and pretty much tackling my babe to the ground I found my sexy new car out in the driveway. Then when I thought I had gotten all my birthday surprises Toby surprised me with a darling camera cake that my awesome friend Melanie made me. I LOVED it!!! Best birthday ever even though I am an old lady!

Best Friends

I feel very fortunate that my girls get a long so well. Don't get me wrong they definitely have their moments but for the most part they really, really enjoy each other. This last year especially I feel like they have just become best friends. They love all of the same things and they play together so well. A few sunday's ago I was in my computer room and the girls came into the room across from me and they were all dressed up in their princess dress ups. They were dancing around the room like little ballerinas for about 15 minutes. I had to take the opportunity to snap some pictures. I love their sweet relationship and hope they always stay this close. Just a few day's ago Nikell got hurt by another little kid and I saw Brooklyn go up to Nikell and hug her head into her chest. She held on to nikell's head and just patted her and rubbed her back until she felt better. It was so cute to see her taking care of her little sister.

Carving Pumpkins

Every year a few day's before Halloween we get the pumpkins off the front porch that we picked out at the pumpkin patch and we carve them. This year with how busy we have all been we didn't get around to it until the night before Halloween. It was worth the wait though, the girls had a blast. Brooklyn, of course, had to pick the biggest pumpkin of all so Toby had a super fun time trying to carve that big thing. Nikell was excited to be able to help take out all the "guts" is what they called it. Brooklyn was going to but then right before it was time, she chickened out and asked dad to just do it. They both wanted scary pumpkins, I'm not sure if Toby and I delivered quite as well as we had hoped. At least they were happy:).

Trunk or Treat!

This year was the second year our ward has done the trunk or treat party. Last year it was pretty small at someones house. This year they did it at the church and it was a much bigger deal. They had a ton of fun outdoor activities for the kids to do, we had chili for dinner with some really yummy corn bread and desserts. Then they had the kids go inside the primary room and they did a puppet show and a magic show. The kids loved it! After the fun inside we had the trunk or treating outside. We had a really fun time with all our friends!!

Happy Harvest Party

Brooklyn and Nikell go to the same preschool but on different day's. They both had a happy harvest party at school and got to dress up in there costumes. They both loved it and said the wish every day was happy harvest day.

Del Osso Farms

We took our traditional trip to the pumpkin patch just as a family this year, since the time we went with all our friends we ended up going to a different pumpkin patch because of how busy it was. It started out great but when we took an hour long ride behind a tractor and Brooklyn said "I'm bored" like 5 times it soon became not so fun. We definitely learned our lesson though we wont be doing anymore long, boring tram rides again. The girls have the most fun just playing around on the huge tires stacked up or going on pony rides. We will have to remember that for next year. It was a beautiful evening though and is always good to be hanging out as a family!
