Nikella

I just wanted to write a few things down about our cute little 2 year old, Nikell.

Nikki, has a special little place in my heart because she just is so dang sweet. She is so cuddly and loving, I love the stage she is in right now and could just kiss her little cheeks all day if I could.

Lately Brooklyn has been calling her kella and kell. This started about 6 months ago and I think it is pretty cute. Well a few months after Brooklyn started calling her that, Nikell started calling Brooklyn Kella and Kell. At first we were like oh it's a phase she will figure it out soon that she is actually calling Brooklyn her own name. She still hasn't figured it out, now everyday Nikell calls to Brooklyn "Kell, kell ,Kella" and everyday we say to Nikell "what's her name?" and then she starts to giggle and say "Brooklyn". She knows her name but I think she is so used to hearing us call her that. She seriously says it every time she is trying to get Brooklyn's attention. (sigh)

The other day I had a designer come over and paint polka dots on the girls bathroom walls. When Nikell saw the bathroom she goes "mom, I love the polka-nuts". It sounded so dang cute! Now every time she says polka-nuts Brooklyn tries to correct her but we tell Brooklyn to not correct her because it's way too cute.

Just within the last few weeks when Nikell asks for something or I give her something she goes "thanks mom, your da best".:)

Nikell has such a soft little heart. Whenever I get upset with her (which isn't very often, unless she screams her high pitched scream) she just looks heart broken. She cries the saddest cry until I pick her up and give her kisses and hugs and then she always says "mommy, you happy now"? It breaks my heart and makes it really hard for me to discipline her ever.

One more thing I can think of right now is that she calls her swimming suit her swimming soup.

We love our little Nikell and I think I will go give her a kiss right now cuz she is so dang cute!

ERIKA

I posted all of Erika's pictures that I have done so far on my photography blog. Check it out www.tamigphotography.com

SHE SWIMS!

I took this video last week and have had troubles getting it uploaded so hopefully this works. We are proud of Brooklyn for doing such a great job with swimming. She loves it and it makes us feel much more comfortable when we are out near the water!

Nikell is doing a great job too and even though she hasn't had swimming lessons yet she loves to go under the water and blow bubbles. She starts swimming lessons in about a month and we hope she will love it like her sister!

Twin girls

One of my good friends, Amy is pregnant with twin girls. She is due in August and has already been to the hospital many times and they have had to stop her labor. She has been on bed rest off and on for most of her pregnancy. Poor thing I bet she will be happy when it's time for them to come for real!
I hosted a baby shower for her at my home with the help of my friends Kaylene and Raquel. I love decorating and planning things like this and had a lot of fun putting it all together. I think Amy had a good time and she seemed happy about all the cute gifts she got. Little girls are just so much fun to shop for!
Toby went to Arizona this weekend with Brooklyn to see our niece Emma be baptized so it was just me and Nikell. I had a two girls from our ward come and babysit some of the kids during the shower and it worked out great.

I designed this invitation and am loving learning how to do all of this fun stuff! I left off all the party information but you get the idea.

ECLIPSE

I can't forget to post about our awesome night going to the midnight showing of Eclipse on opening night. My friends and I alway's make sure we go to the midnight showing of all of the Twilight movies because, well, we are crazy! It is alway's so much fun and everyone is so excited and happy and it makes the movie that much better! This year my sister in law Erika got to experience it for the first time. I'm pretty sure she thinks my friends are the coolest ever and she had a blast. She fit right in and we seriously had the funnest night! When we got to the movie theater it took a minute to find which line we were in because there were like 5 lines and it was seriously crazy how many people were there. We eventually found our line and if you can believe, it had wound itself all the way around the movie theater to the very very back. It was awesome! The movie was all I had hoped it to be and more of course! I loved it and I know I sound like a teenager saying this but I might be a little obsessed! lol, seriously though.
I went to it again with Toby the next night and he really liked it too so that say's a lot! The only thing that disappointed me is that it had to end.
Thanks for the fun night ladies!!

OUR SWIMMER

We put Brooklyn in swimming lessons again but this time we did a semi private lesson and she did a lot better. She wasn't as overwhelmed with so many kids. So, after a two week lesson for 45 minutes each she now can swim!:) I will have to take video of it because it's pretty cute.

Brooklyn also had her first talk in primary on Sunday. She was so excited about it and did such a good job. I asked her what she wanted to say and she told me she really liked the story of when Jesus was baptized so at the end of her talk she said " I would like to share my testimony, I love Hevenly Father and Jesus Christ and am grateful for the blessings they give me. I love the story of when Jesus was baptized and I'm excited to be baptized some day like he was." So on the way to church she was practicing her talk and her testimony then when she was done she goes "um, mom? when I get baptized will I get dunked under the water?" I said "yes." She then said, "ok, then will you please bring my goggles?" lol, hilarious!

BUBBLE BATH

I have been loving decorating our new house and am really excited to get started with Brooklyn and Nikell's bathroom. While I was in Utah I found these really cute black frames that I thought would go really cute in their bathroom. All I needed was some pictures to go in them. So on Saturday while the girls were taking a bubble bath I took these pictures of them. I think they turned out cute and will look great in their bathroom. I know an interior designer that is also an artist and she does an amazing job. I think I'm going to have her paint polka dots on the wall in their bathroom as well. It's gonna be cute! I will post pictures of it when we are done. :)

3rd and 4th of July

On the 3rd of July we had a busy day trying to get some things done around the house while Erika was still here to help out with the girls. We went to Costco and Lowe's and we got a big shelving unit to put in our pantry so that I could finally unpack all our food storage. Ahh, I'm so happy to say my pantry looks so nice and neat now, free of boxes!!:) That night we took Erika to have her first experience with Thai food, something we love! She said she really liked it so yeah for that. We decided last minute to do let off some fireworks at our house so Misty, Dylen and Max came over and we had a great time doing sparklers and watching the fabulous firework show that Erika and Toby put on for us. Brooklyn is still not a huge fan of the loud noises so she pretty much covered her ears and face the whole time but everyone else loved it.

This picture I got from Misty...

The next day after church and visiting with some good friends we decided to go find a real firework show to go watch. We found one just as it got dark about 40 minutes from were we live. We sat on the grass at an elementary school and watched the fireworks that were going on at a park nearby. We had cars driving by in front of us the whole time but we barely noticed because of the fun times we had just talking and laughing with Erika and the girls. I hope everyone had a fun 4th of July! I'm so grateful for our country and love celebrating it!

We love Erika soooooo much and are so happy she came to stay with us for a week. I miss her already and hope she will come out again soon! I took Erika's pictures while she was here and I am still editing them but will post some of those soon. There are a few on my photography blog that are dang cute but I will be posting a few more soon.
