The weekend of Fathers Day, Toby made a small request to go up to Yosemite. He loves it up there and hasn't been in a few years (surprising enough). So, Saturday we headed up there along with everyone else in the world. It took us like 2 hours extra to get there because of the traffic. Once we finally got there we went to a fairly secluded spot and had a little picnic. The flowers were GORGEOUS. We had a nice lunch and walked around a little bit before getting back in the car to go back into the mess of cars. We didn't spend very much time up there walking around we mostly drove around because there wasn't really anywhere to park. The waterfalls were huge and it would have been nice to see them closer up but I was not in the mood to enjoy it with a million other people. It was a nice time spent with the fam and the girls had fun, besides when mosquitos would land on them, they would scream and cry every time. They did not like that!
About a week or so ago a bunch of friends and I had a super awesome play day. First we met at a few minutes from were we live to go blueberry picking. I don't know why I haven't ever gone before! It is so close to were I live and it was so much fun! The kids all got to pick their own buckets and then we just walked along the rows of blueberries and picked away. The blueberries are organic so we were able to just eat them right off the bush. Nikell wasn't getting very many blueberries in her bucket because she thought they all looked pretty tasty. Brooklyn is getting to the age were she just wants to be with her friends. She pretty much ditched me and Nikell and walked up with her friends Dylen, Sydney, Ashley and Max. It's ok though she had fun! After the blueberry picking we went to the Ripon water park were we like to go and let the kids run around in the water fountains. It is a great summer activity! We packed lunches and pretty much made a day of it. Luckily we found some shade because it was pretty dang hot! The kids had a great time and it was so fun to just be able to sit and talk to all my friends!
Now we have a ton of blueberries and Brooklyn has all these ideas of things she wants to bake, blueberry muffins, blueberry pie, blueberry pancakes. I think I can handle the blucberry pancakes but the pie.. yea right!
I guess I should post the last few pictures of the trip to Utah. The rest of the week was way better then the first of the week. Brookyn was getting her strength back and we the kids got a lot of time to play with their cousins. On Saturday we went to Thanksgiving point to the petting zoo and the kids loved it. They had fun on the pony rides and on the wagon ride. We then went to dinner at JCW's, yum! That night Toby came back to drive home with us the next day. I was so, so happy to see him. LONG week! I look forward to our next trip and hopefully we will have healthy kids the whole time!!
Toby's sister, Amy invited us to dinner on Friday night and the girls had the best time with James and Marie!
