2 first day's of Kindergarten and first day of Preschool

The city that we live in does not have school boundaries.  They put kids in schools a different way then I have ever seen.  There are 5 schools that go from kindergarten to 8th grade.  When you register for kindergarten you write down your top choice school, second choice and third choice schools.  About 2 months before schools starts you get a letter in the mail telling you which school your child go in to.  If for some reason there wasn't room in your top choice school and your child was placed in a different school then they put your child's name directly on the transfer list for your top choice school.  When room becomes available in your top choice school they call you and give you an option to transfer that you can except or decline.  (confusing I know)
So, Brooklyn was place in our third choice of schools and we were pretty sad about it.  Brooklyn of course didn't care, she was just excited to be going to kindergarten.  Toby and I were disappointed for a number of reasons so we just prayed that it would work out and that she would get the opportunity to transfer quickly or that she would be happy at the school she got into.
The first day of school came without getting a call to transfer.  So, we took Brooklyn to school at Ripona for Kindergarten.  She loved it!   She was so happy and had a lot of fun.  Well, she went a second day to school and right after I dropped her off I got a call from the school district.  A spot had opened up at our first choice school, Colony Oak, and they asked me if she wanted to take it.  We were so excited and of course we excepted but I couldn't help but feeling sad to tell Brooklyn.  She had met some cute friends and she really liked her teacher.   I was nervous that just as she got comfortable we were going to have to pull her out and throw her into a new situation to start all over again.
I was having a hard time with it but knew it was the right decision.  When I picked her up from school I sat down with her and told her the happy news.  We had prepared her that this might happen.  Right away she gave me the saddest face but it lasted 2 seconds because when I told her the new school was close enough to walk and that when she is older she could ride her bike to school, she was over it.  I am glad it was only two day's before we got the call and not longer!
She loves her new school and is doing really well.  I miss her a lot since she is gone from 8-2 everyday but I know she is at a great school and I couldn't be happier.
Her teacher Ms. Huff is out until sep 5 because she had surgery but the substitute has been great, Brooklyn has really enjoyed her.  We do look forward to meeting her real teacher though!  A few more weeks.
Nikell started Preschool again and is loving it.  She is so happy to be with her best little friend Kaiya.  They are such cute little friends!

Presly Jane

Oh my goodness our little newborn is not so little and new anymore. She is such a cute little chubby baby and we love her so much! She is such a good baby and we have so much fun with her. I just wanted to add a few pictures of her that I have taken randomly in the last little while. From month 5-61/2 she has gone from sitting up to getting up on all fours to army crawling for like one week to now full on crawling. She is even starting to pull herself up onto things. Yesterday I was folding clothes (which is now impossible to do with her crawling around yanking everything down) I had a stack of towels and she grabbed the top towel and pulled herself up onto her knees and just started bouncing with a smile on her face as if to say "mom, look what I did, I'm so big". We love little Pres and are excited to see what she can do in 6 more months. (yikes) I also have to add this cute little thing that happened the other night. I was downstairs editing and heard Presly crying. Before I got a chance to stand up, I heard little footsteps running into her room, the crying stops and then I heard a little voice softly singing. Nikell is our little singer and went to her rescue! The other day Brooklyn couldn't sleep because she took a nap during the day but Nikell was already dreaming. Brooklyn walked downstairs and said to toby with a very sad face and a fat lip. "Daddy I can't sleep because Nikell isn't awake to sing me songs, I have to fall asleep to her voice." We love that Nikell sings so much. She wakes up in the middle of the night and to get back to sleep she sings songs. She has also been known to sing in her sleep. So cute!

Camp out with daddy

Our camp outs consist of having s'mores in our fire pit and then either pitching a tent in our back yard or sleeping on our tramp. Toby is such a good dad and loves to do these fun things with the girls while I get a good nights sleep inside with Presly;)

Kite Festival

A few weekends ago Toby was off so we decided to go somewhere for the day. I read about a kite festival that they do every year at the bay so we decided to go see what it was all about. We loaded up everything and took our own butterfly kite. It was pretty cool when we got there to see all the huge kites that they were flying. I also thought it was cool because there were people sitting all over the hill tops just flying there own kites as well so the sky was full of color and it was fun to see all the different kites. After a little while though the excitement wore off so we decided to head home. It was a fun thing to do and experience though!!
