ALMOND BLOSSOM FESTIVAL

Saturday was a good day. We had such a good time at the almond blossom festival, it was so nice to get out and to let the kids run around and play. This last week we didn't really get out much so it was really good for all of us! The kids had so much fun and one of the high lights was when we went and rode the pony's. Nikell told me she really wanted to ride one and then when I put her on she flipped out. All in all we had a really fun time. Later that night I went to the movies with my friends. I feel like it's been forever since I have seen a movie. We had so much fun and it really turned out to be a great day!

ALMOND BLOSSOM

Today Misty and I and the kids went over to the Almond Blossom festival that was going on. We had a really fun time and I will add some more pictures later. But I wanted to say how much I love this time of year were I live. Throughout the year there aren't very many times I look around at my surroundings and think to myself "wow I live in a beautiful place". Don't get me wrong we do live near very many beautiful places and we visit there as much as we can. But, right where we live isn't much to brag about, EXCEPT for this time of year! We live near so many almond orchards and I can't tell you how beautiful it is when they are all in bloom. It reminds me of the way trees look when they are snow covered. The plus side of that is we get to enjoy that same beauty without being freezing cold.
Today while we were at the festival it was pretty stormy looking in the sky. The clouds were black and it looked like it was just about to pour. We packed the kid's in the car because we weren't really to excited to stand out in the rain. As I was driving home with my kids fast asleep in the car. I start to see the sun peak out between the black clouds. The light that was pouring over the trees was breath taking. I was truly in awe of how beautiful it was! Of course I had to pull over and capture the beauty and ponder for a moment about how blessed I was to be able to enjoy such things.
I hope I am able to convince someone to let me take their pictures in the beautiful trees before the blossoms are gone.

TOO MUCH OF A GOOD THING

So what does it say about me when every time the door bell rings Brooklyn says "is that the pizza mom"?

GOOD INTENTIONS

The week before Valentines Day I decided to make some cute Valentines treats for Brooklyn and Nikell to take around to her friends. I took about two day's to gather the things I needed and made these little treat bags. Well Valentines came and went and I never got a chance to take them around to all Brooklyn's friends. I now have a bunch of treat bags and candy that are just sitting here. Hopefully next year I can follow through with my creative plans.

ONE SICK MONTH

For some reason this month has just been one sickness after the other for our little family. First I got sick then the girls caught a little bug, then Toby got sick and still hasn't been able to kick it completely. Then Nikell got sick again last week and I got a crappy bladder infection. After taking Nikell to the dr one morning I had to go to my midwife myself. So Instead of taking her all the way home and going back which would have taken like an hour. I took her to my appointment with me. My appt. was at 2:30 But they told me to come an hour early because they had moved buildings and they needed me to do all this paper work. Nikell did such a good job for the first hour and 15 mn but when we had been there for close to an hour and 45 mn she started getting really tired. Poor thing had an ear infection and I am sure just wanted her bed. So when I about gave up waiting the lady told me I would be next to see the midwife I sat down with Nikell on my lap. She put her two little fingers in her mouth and within minutes fell asleep. (this, by the way, never happens. This girl doesn't fall asleep anywhere but in her bed very often). Right as she fell asleep they called my name. I didn't have a stroller or anything so I was a little nervous about what I was going to do, I really didn't want to wake her up because she was so tired and sick. My worries went away the second I saw my midwife, I seriously LOVE all the midwives in this office and can't say enough good things about them! She took Nikell from my arms without me asking or saying a word. She held her during my entire visit and then near the end she laid her on the patient table so she could write me a prescription. I know this story is probably lame for everyone to read but I was so impressed with this midwife that I just had to say so. I was so glad Nikell stayed asleep and was able to get a really great nap. I just really appreciate it when people go out of there way to make me feel comfortable and when they are more then happy to help me when I need it.
I am happy to say everyone at our house is feeling much better.

I also wanted to tell everyone thanks for the votes. I am afraid we just got too late of a start so we are pretty far behind but feel free to keep voting if you want too!!

SWEET PRINCESS

I went to Old Navy today and just had Nikell with me. The lady that was helping me check out thought Nikell was so cute and told me about a contest Old Navy is doing. She told me to take a picture of her with the modelquins that they have in the store and if she gets a bunch of votes she could win. SO.... Vote for Nikell!!

I changed the link so that it goes straight to her picture so you don't have to spend time looking for her. THANKS!! You can vote everyday until March 3rd.

POOR ATEMPT

Before we headed out for church on Valentines Day I wanted to try to get some pictures of the girls. I don't feel like I have very many pictures of the girls together. (now I know why)
I have decided that it really isn't a good idea for me to try so hard to get pictures of my girls posing how I want and smiling. I get so frustrated and then they get frustrated and it just doesn't turn out to be a fun experience for anyone. So pretty much what I'm saying is to get a few good pictures was NOT easy.
To be honest though I actually think I like the silly ones best and when I look at them now it makes me laugh at how silly my girls are and that I don't need to worry so much about the smiling and posing pictures when the candid, silly ones are the ones that show their personality most.

brooklyn's look in this picture tells it all.

VALENTINES PARTY

On Saturday Misty and Lorilee's husbands were on a campout so we put together a little Valentines party for the kids. These are just a few pictures I took.

We hid hearts with candy in them and before the kids went looking for them we discovered Nikell in the other room, she had found a handful of the hearts that were hidden and was snarfing down the chocolate that was inside.

LOVE

When I was younger Valentines was not a holiday I liked very much. Now that I am older I appreciate the holiday a lot more. I love that I get an excuse to tell all my loved ones that I love them without sounding cheesy.=) I feel so blessed to have so many people in my life that I love and who love me. Just wanted to wish you all a Happy Valentines Day! I hope it's a good one! xoxoxo

TWO YEARS OLD!

Our baby turned two on Monday and I can't believe it. Little Nikell has been such a sweet baby and I am a little sad that she is turning into a big girl now. I was sick last week and didn't really feel up to planning a party so the day of her Birthday came and we decided to go to chuckecheese last minute. Misty and Ryan came and joined us for the fun. Nikell had a really fun time and she loved the Cinderella plates, cups and cake that we got her. She loves princesses, especially "Cimberella" (thats how she says it). We love our little Nikki so much. she is such a little delicate thing and we love her hugs and her sweet little personality.

Toby's mom came into town for Nikell's Birthday. She is so great about coming out often to see the girls, especially on their Birthday's! We love her and are so happy she came!
Brooklyn was having a hard time because her nose had been running all day and it started really hurting her upper lip.
They are best friends and we love it!

Make a wish!
