Weekend Getaway

A few weeks ago we took advantage of a weekend that Toby wasn't on call and we decided to have a little getaway to Monterey.  The douglas's came along with us and then we met Matt and Megan there coincidentally which turned out perfect!  It was seriously such a nice, fun relaxing weekend and the girls had a blast!  We went to the Monterey bay aquarium and then we stayed the night and hung out at the beach the next day.  Troy and Amy decided to go home for the night and we stayed at the same hotel as Matt and Megan and our kids were in heaven.  Brooklyn and Nikell get along so well with Jaydin and Kaiya.  They really do have so many of the same interests and they always have so much fun together.  Kaiya and Nikell are such cute little friends.  Nikell always say's that Kaiya is her best friend and that she wishes she could play with her more.  They went to preschool together and became so close!  They are all darling and just the cutest friends.  I'm feeling like I need another getaway like this:).

Happy New Years!!

New Years Eve was seriously such a blast for these kids of ours!  Earlier that day we went to Grand Events, our party store.  We got a bunch of fun decorations for our awesome New Years party.  When we got home we decorated the house and we put some music in the girls Hello Kitty karaoke machine. we all danced and sang the night away and when it got later we even plugged in a strobe light.  It was so much fun and when the clock stuck 12:00 (really it was 9:00 but they don't need to know that;))  we had these poppers that all the kids pulled and it sprayed confetti all over our house.  Nikell's popper blew the wrong way though and she got burned and that wasn't the best way for her to bring in the New Year.  Poor thing was pretty tired and when we were doing our "cheers" with our sparkling cider she accidentally spilled hers all over her pj's and had a melt down again.  She really does not like to have her clothes be wet.  She really dislikes the way it feels and it makes her pretty sad.  All in all the the night was a success and we all had a really fun time!
