Lake Powell

It seems like every time we go to Lake Powell now we aren't able to go with the whole Goeckeritz Family because we are getting too big.  This year we went with Erika, Troy and Jodi and Lafe and Jaime.  It was a nice trip because the weather really was perfect!  It was also an interesting trip because half way through our trip the government shut down all of the national parks.  All of the sudden we seemed to be the only ones out there on that lake.  When Toby and I went back to go home it was seriously dead, no one was around at all.  I guess it tuned out to be nice for us but I feel bad for those people who had planned their trip at the time of the shut down and drove down to the lake only to be turned away.
This was a fun trip because it was the first time Nikell got up on water skis.  She had to try it a few times before she got up and she told me she was falling on purpose because she was scared.  When I explained to her that it was a lot more fun when she stood up and that falling was a lot more scary she got up the next try.  Nikell doesn't like doing things until she really knows what to expect.  she doesn't like the unknown at all.  She did a great job though!
Brooklyn was a skiing machine!  She loved it and was excited to do it which is a great thing!  She even tried knee boarding for the first time and did awesome!  She is most definitely my brave little girl!  Presly was really great the whole trip and loved playing on the beach in the sand.  The few times she went out in the water, some waves came in and scared her to death so that kept her a safe distance from the water which ended up being a good thing.

Before leaving Park City we met up with my brother and sister in law.  They were in Park City watching Cassie ride in a bike race.  It was cool to see them for a little bit!!
Then before heading to Lake Powell we got to go see our niece Marie be baptized, we hung out with family for a little bit also.

Then on the way home from Lake Powell we went through Las Vegas and stayed in the Excalibur hotel.  We took the girls to this fun show and dinner with the knights of the round table.  It was called the tournament of kings.  The girls loved it and we all had a really fun time!
